Science Of Hope Workshop, Ceres
Jul 10, 2019
Ceres Community Center, 2701 4th Street, Ceres
Join us today as the Stanislaus Family Justice Center hosts Dr. Chan Hellman and the Science of Hope Workshop in Ceres, and learn what you can do to raise hope. We know that hopeful people will generate multiple pathways toward their goals. Those who have experienced trauma may have difficulty in managing obstacles and developing alternative pathways to achieve their goals.
At this full-day workshop, Domestic Violence victim/survivor program leaders/staff/board members, law enforcement, community leaders, educators, volunteers, and advocates will gain useful tools, practices, and approaches to advance positive youth development. They will learn about the positive impact of hope on a victim’s or survivor’s ability to navigate adversity, flourish, and ultimately reach their goals. Lunch will be provided – space is limited and RSVPs are a must.
Dr. Chan Hellman, a professor at the University of Oklahoma, co-author of “Hope Rising”, and the research partner for our Polyvictimization program will be in Stanislaus County on Wednesday, July 10th. We will be hosting Dr. Hellman for a workshop on Hope Theory Training from 10 am – 3:30 pm at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 4th Street, Ceres.
This is a tremendous opportunity for you to explore how the science of hope works and to nurture hope in children and adults. Do not hesitate to share this workshop and invitation with others in your agency or field that you think might gain insight from such training.
